As a Professional Writing, Media and Rhetoric major, you will understand the role of language in building community; negotiating social, political and economic goals; using technology; and clarifying and articulating ethical and aesthetic values. You'll demonstrate your new skill in the classroom and beyond through internships and other activities, including opportunities for leadership. You'll nurture skills, including skills in digital communication technology, for living and making a living.

• Published writers in the department include Matthew Barton, author of books analyzing video gaming and digital media; Shannon Olson, whose non-fiction course opens another dimension for professional writing students; and Michael Dando, requested as a keynote speaker based on publications in the field of 英语 Education.
• The Write Place, where 英语 majors often gain training experience, provides individualized help in writing while respecting a writer's authority and ownership of their work.
• St. Cloud State’s global, international draw, including through our Intensive 英语 Center, provides a setting with opportunities to interact with international students.
