Anyone with a StarID 可以 access their 明尼苏达州-hosted 变焦 video conferencing service by navigating to http://minnstate.Zoom.us/ 用他们的StarID账号登录.

St. 澳门威尼斯人娱乐城 employees will be added to the 变焦 电话 service in phases between December 2022 和 June 2023. Once an employee is added to the 变焦 电话 service, they 可以 use the same sign in process (http://minnstate.Zoom.us/) to access their phone service settings 和 more. St. 澳门威尼斯人娱乐城 is transitioning from our current phone system to the 变焦 电话 system between December 2022 和 June 2023. The 变焦 电话 service will offer our campus community modernized 和 remote phone service capabilities including the ability to make 和 receive calls 和 text messages from their work number on their work computer, 移动设备等.

The transition to 变焦 电话s will happen in phases, moving approximately 250 employees (grouped by department) each month in Spring 2023. Departments will be contacted ahead of time to discuss transition details, training 和 other needs. Training 和 support will be provided before, during 和 after the transition in a variety of formats.

Communications services are critical for all operations at St. 澳门威尼斯人娱乐城 和 a reliable phone system is necessary. The current system is outdated at nearly 20 years old with obsolete equipment 和 software, 并且不再被供应商支持. In addition to technical challenges 和 business risks associated with an outdated system, maintaining the current system is increasingly costly. St. 澳门威尼斯人娱乐城 sought to implement a modern solution with more value to the campus community, 降低了技术和安全风险, 和 created a financially sustainable phone system model. Along with others within 明尼苏达州, St. 澳门威尼斯人娱乐城 selected the 变焦 电话 solution which will integrate with the University’s current technology systems 和 create a sustainable phone system for our campus community.

What do employees/departments need to know about this change?

  • Employees will be able to make 和 receive calls 和 text messages from their work numbers from their laptop, 移动设备等!
  • There are many settings that employees will be able to customize including their business hours (when their phone rings), 他们想让手机(笔记本电脑)响的地方, 移动电话, 等.) 和 even what hold music they want their phone to have.
  • Employee phone numbers will stay the same 和 your customers should experience no impact on their end.
  • Most employees will move from a physical desk phone to a softphone (virtual phone on their computer) 和 一个耳机. 
    • Every employee will receive one headset at no charge to the department 和 will have a variety of headset options to choose from (e.g. 有线，无线，冰球). Departments will need to pay for replacement headsets. 
    • Physical phones will be distributed to a very limited number of areas/people based upon need (e.g. shared 物理的电话s, accessibility needs). 需要……的地区/人 物理的电话 will receive them at no charge to the department.
